Overview
The Technopreneurship Development Centre (TDC) is one of Harare Institute of Technology`s strategic unit .
Technopreneurship is, by a large part, still entrepreneurship. The difference is that technopreneurship is more involved in delivering innovative hi-tech, value added products and the creation scalable business ventures. It is the practice of consistently converting good ideas into profitable commercial business ventures.
Through its courses, the centre inculcates amongst students the philosophy of technopreneurship and develops values responsible for a mindset shift from the traditional expectation of employment by government, industry and commerce.
Under the Technopreneurship ethos, graduates are capacitated to start innovative and high tech enterprises that address key macro-economic objectives and make an impact on the national economy.
The centre comprises of academic and administrative units. The academic unit offers technopreneurship development courses to the corporate world and government ministries. It also offers technopreneurship studies at undergraduate and post graduate level.
