Master of Technology degree in Industrial Engineering and Management
Master of Technology degree in Industrial Engineering and Management
The M.Tech degree programme in Industrial Engineering and Management is concerned with the design, improvement, installation, and management of integrated systems of people, material, and equipment. It provides students with the flexibility to pursue goals for advancement in management as well as systems design.
The programme aims to provide students with a combination of technical skills, tools, techniques, and business acumen to contribute to the success of companies through effective problem-solving and to prepare socially responsible interdisciplinary professionals capable of providing integrated and effective complex systems management.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- Design solutions for complex, open-ended engineering problems, systems, processes to meet specific needs with appropriate attention to health and safety risks, applicable standards with economic, environmental, cultural and societal considerations.
- Model, and analyse systems/ problems interrelations and behavioural patterns for decision making purposes under uncertainty to avoid unintended outcomes
- Conduct investigations of complex problems through appropriate experiments, modelling, analysis, interpretation of data, and synthesis of information for decision-making processes.
- Monitor systems for compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable standards
- Demonstrate ability to use appropriate engineering tools such as modelling to solve management problems and to enhance efficiencies and outputs of complex industrial processes and service systems
