Environmental Management, Renewable Energy and Climate Change (EMRECC), is a Centre of Excellence at Harare Institute of Technology (HIT). As a Centre we are on a mission to contribute to green revolution through environmental education and innovative research. Our vision is to establish sustainable clean cities with low carbon emissions through technological solutions by 2025.

EMRECC interacts with all departments across the University, by providing and drawing expertise from the departments in executing projects which focus on sustainable development issues through sustainable technologies. The Centre also provides consultancy across different fields especially on the aspect of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and sustainable technologies. Above all, the Centre conducts researches on cross cutting themes in various disciplines which are at the epicenter of various organisations orientated to sustainable development.
