Saith Technologies officially launched its groundbreaking Microsonic Energy technology on Monday 10 February 2025 at the Golden Confer Events and Conference Centre, in Harare, ushering in a new era of energy innovation on African soil.
The Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) Vice Chancellor Professor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe affirmed the Institute’s strong ties with Saith and the significance of indigenous innovation.
According to Prof Q.C Kanhukamwe, HIT is satisfied with its relationship with Saith Technologies, which includes acting as a scientific advisor and pilot testing and validation of inventions amongst other obligations.
“It is a privilege to stand before you today on this remarkable occasion, the launch of Saith Technologies’ groundbreaking Microsonic Energy technology,” stated Prof Kanhukamwe. He highlighted the importance of the event, adding, “We gather here not only to celebrate a technological milestone but to witness the dawn of a new chapter in energy innovation, born and developed right here on the African soil.”
The Microsonic Energy Device, pioneered by Maxwell Sangulani Chikumbutso, promises to address global energy concerns by offering efficient, self-sustaining, and clean energy alternatives. Vice Chancellor Kanhukamwe emphasised Chikumbutso’s role in shifting the narrative of Africa as merely a consumer of technology. “For far too long, Africa has been seen as a consumer rather than a producer of technological advancements. Saith Technologies is changing that narrative,” he said.
“As HIT we are satisfied with our relationship with Saith Technologies which includes: acting as scientific advisor and pilot testing and validation of inventions amongst other obligations,” Professor Kanhukamwe explained. He further pledged the University’s continued support: “The Harare Institute of Technology will support this journey through research partnerships and talent development.”
This partnership is expected to drive innovation and technological advancement in Zimbabwe, with potential benefits extending to the entire African continent.
Professor Kanhukamwe emphasised the importance of collaboration, stating, “For innovation to thrive, collaboration is essential. I call upon the private sector, research institutions, and academic bodies to partner with Saith Technologies.” He added, “By working together, we can accelerate the commercialisation of this technology, create local manufacturing opportunities, and foster an environment of technological excellence.”
Looking to the future, Professor Kanhukamwe expressed his confidence in Saith Technologies’ potential to reshape Africa’s technological landscape. “I firmly believe that Saith Technologies will become a cornerstone of Africa’s technological and industrial landscape,” he declared, adding, “Maxwell Sangulani Chikumbutso and his team are redefining what is possible and their work reminds us that Africa’s time is now.” He ended with a call to action: “Together, we can build a future where Africa is not just a participant but a leader in technological innovation and sustainable development.”
