On June 1, 2024, the HIT Christian Union visited Kudakwashe Children’s Home in Stoneridge, Harare South to promote community engagement, social responsibility, and active participation in supporting the less privileged, aligning with the principles of Education 5.0, particularly community service.
The home, founded in 2015, houses 35 children living with disabilities.
The HIT Chaplain, Reverend Tendai Mutongomanya, led the visit. During the visit, the team conducted a praise and worship session, provided career guidance, and interacted with the children and staff. The HIT Christian Union also donated food, clothing, and blankets to the children, reflecting their belief that caring for the vulnerable fulfils a moral duty and expresses devotion to Jesus.
The visit provided a meaningful and impactful experience for the students, reinforcing their commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
