Ganpat University (GUNI) of Gujarat in India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) to encourage, facilitate and qualitatively strengthen the pursuit of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The two parties agreed to undertake collaborative activities, including the joint development of academic and short-term certificate programmes, faculty and student exchanges, executive education, and joint international exposure for students.
Ganpat and HIT also agreed to collaborate on hosting joint conferences and research activities including establishing start-ups, entrepreneurship and innovation-related cooperation. The two universities will also establish a trade and knowledge facilitation centre.
The MoU was signed by the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Ganpat University Dr Satyen Parikh and HIT Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Mr W. Gwarimbo on the 9th of May 2024 at the Innovation Hub.
The Agreement is valid for five years, whereupon it will be reviewed and may be extended by mutual agreement of both parties.
Ganpat University was established by the State Government through the enactment of Act No.19/2005 on 12th April 2005. It is approved under section 2(f) by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
The University and the township of Ganpat Vidyanagar is a high-tech education campus that is a joint initiative, purely philanthropic, by a large number of industrialists and technocrats, noble farmers and affluent businessmen for the mission of “Social Upliftment through Education”. In consideration of its contribution to Education in a short period, Ganpat University was given Permanent Membership in renowned Academic & Industry Associations, such as the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI), All India Management Association (AIMA), Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), International Association of Universities (IAU), Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Recognized by Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of Gujarat appointed Start-up Nodal Institute, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Student Start-up & Innovation Policy (SSIP), National Centre for Management of Agricultural Extension (MANAGE).
The University offers various unique, quality, industry-linked and sector-focused Diploma, Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research level programs (Professional and Non-professional) in the fields of Engineering, Management, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, Sciences, Commerce & Social Science, Architecture, Design & Planning, Maritime Studies, Nursing, Agriculture, Physiotherapy and Optometry among others.
