The Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) has signed a collaborative agreement with Davipel Private Limited on research and development, innovation, and commercialisation of outputs for the promotion of industrialisation.
The partnership involves the exchange and sharing of information, trade secrets, research and academic collaborations, capacity building and training cooperation as well as finding and developing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions and innovations to enhance enterprise performance.
The two parties are determined to find new approaches and strategies for effective manufacturing, production and organisational processes. HIT and Davipel desire to strengthen cooperation in the development of locally based ICT solutions and software, innovation, industrialisation and modernisation with a specific focus on strengthening and enhancing the two parties’ business and integrity.
This collaboration comes after the realisation of the seriousness of the threats to effective and efficient manufacturing and production processes posed by a number of factors prevalent in the Zimbabwean economy, some of which are the growing use of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies and the attendant business processes and the need for continuous innovation.
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is to provide a broad base for cooperation between the parties with the intention of proffering solutions through the use of their respective personnel, facilities, electronic and other systems, tools, and resources to unearth economic and business activities being conducted within the two institutions.
The two parties will establish a Joint Technical Committee comprised of representatives from each party to oversee the implementation and administration of this MoU.
