The Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) has partnered with Telecontract Private Limited (Telco) and Strategic Outcomes for the purpose of establishing joint collaborations on industry-grade training, work-related learning, and exposure for students to industry expectations.

The three parties agreed to implement student work-related placements from the HIT Schools and Departments, provide workplace internships and graduate traineeships for exceptional graduates as well as industry experts to HIT for workshops and exposure. Telco and Strategic Outcomes will also provide Graduation Prizes for graduates who acquire first-class degrees including collaboration to craft and implement Blockchain curriculum.

The two companies will also participate in pre-existent and forthcoming student career development clubs, provide exposure to areas of interest such as Software Defined Networks and Blockchain Technologies, arrange for student industrial visits, bring industry requirements to HIT for further assessment and implementation, and recommend HIT students to other industry partnerships.

This MoU shall remain in force for 5 years and the parties may terminate it by giving three months’ notice.

Teleco and Strategic outcomes are involved in the provision of telecommunications services, rolling out optical fibre, copper, and wireless networks with value-added services including voice, video, internet, and data services.
