The Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) has partnered with the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) to jointly conduct training, research, and development on cyber security and data protection issues.

POTRAZ and HIT agreed to collaborate in the training and certification of data protection officers, programme content development, academic research and development in cyber and data protection issues, as well as cooperation in other areas of common interest, as may be suitably identified for the mutual benefit of both parties.

The joint programme shall be managed by a Technical Committee constituted of representatives from both parties. The Technical Committee shall be responsible for the establishment and coordination of the programme

This agreement shall be valid for a period of five years and may be extended for any successive periods upon mutual consent of both parties.

The agreement was signed by the POTRAZ Director General Dr. G.K Machengete and HIT Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Eng Q.C Kanhukamwe on the 25th of October 2023.
