The Harare Institute of Technology Board Chairperson Engineer Farai Mavhiya-Bhiza was recently appointed the President of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE) as Dr Engineer Edmund Shingirayi Maputi was appointed a Board Member responsible for Higher Education Institutions with Engineering departments.
The ZIE AGM ratified the ZIE board on May 17, 2023, at a meeting convened at Counquenar House in Harare.
The Harare Institute of Technology Board, the Vice Chancellor Dr Engineer Q.C Kanhukamwe Senior Management, Staff and Students would like to congratulate the HIT Board Chairperson Engineer Farai Mavhiya-Bhiza on her appointment as the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE) President as well as Dr Engineer Edmund Maputi on his appointment as the Representative for Higher Education Institutions with Engineering Departments.
The HIT Community wishes Engineer Mavhiya-Bhiza, Dr Eng Maputi and their fellow Board members success as they execute the ZIE mandate of setting and maintaining standards of engineering and technical competencies as well as promoting the advancement of engineering which will ultimately spur Zimbabwe’s Modernisation and Industrialisation Agenda to achieve an Upper Middle Income Economy by 2030.
