A delegation from the Harare Institute of Technology paid a reciprocal visit to Davipel Trading, a food processing company located in the Sunway Export Processing Zone.
The delegation toured the company’s Information Technology Systems Hub, snack manufacturing division, maize milling and animal feed manufacturing plants as well as the engineering hub.
At the conclusion of the tour, the two parties agreed to work together in the development of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that integrates the company’s systems and processes as well as process optimisation and automation including a loss control system at Davipel.
Davipel also agreed to employ HIT graduates as well as engage HIT students on internship, while the University will also conduct training for the company’s employees.
HIT and Davipel will also conduct research and development activities to promote industrialisation in Zimbabwe.
Davipel Trading is a dried food manufacturing company established in 2002 with the objective of supplying quality dried foods to both the local and export market. Its products are traded under the brand name Royal, Diggles, and Jumbo.
