A delegation of over 45 officers from the Zimbabwe Defence University’s National Defence Course 11/2022 visited HIT on the 18th of November 2022 to enable the course participants to appreciate the importance of scientific innovation in enhancing Zimbabwe’s industrial and technological development.
The delegation was led by Brigadier-General Lindiwe Ngwenya and had participants from the Zimbabwe National Army, Airforce of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services, Zimbabwe Republic Police, Ministry of Mines and Mining Development as well as some security officers from Zambia, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, Mozambique and Pakistan.
In his address to the delegation, HIT Pro Vice for Academic Affairs highlighted HIT’s mandate of developing, incubating, transferring and commercialising technology for the country’s rapid industrialisation. He also presented on research driven programmes run by the University.
The visit also included an interactive session as well as a guided tour of selected laboratories, workshops and selected at the Innovation Hub.
