The Harare Institute of Technology has once again won an international award for business excellence and high quality performance as well as best customer satisfaction.
The award, given in Rome on June 24, was bestowed on HIT by the Association Otherways Management and Consulting based in Paris, France.
HIT won the 2013 Golden Award for Quality and Business Prestige trophy and a certificate for Total Quality Customer Satisfaction Aptitude Seal for High Quality Performance and Best Customer Satisfaction.
The Vice Chancellor, Eng Quinton Kanhukamwe who received the award at a colourful ceremony in Rome, Italy, attended by renowned business executives from all over the world dedicated it to the entire HIT family.
“I dedicate this award to the entire HIT staff, students and indeed our Institute Board which has been giving us policy direction” said Eng Kanhukamwe.
The award recognises companies that show exceptional performance all over the world. According to Association Otherways Management and Consulting, the criteria for the awards are based on reports carried out periodically by the association’s marketing team based in Europe.
The selection criteria are also based on information, polls and voting. In addition to the voting process, the association also gathers information through consultation of the media (Press, radio and television), consultancy companies, advertising agencies, trade fairs and exhibitions, chambers of commerce, embassies, polls, including the online macro poll, which is analysed by the selection committee.
The Otherways International Award-Acknowledgment program is a Business-Oriented International Award which focuses on promoting economic relations and establishing new commercial and professional contacts by producing an ideal occasion in an International multi-sector forum. It allows the "Award – Symbol" to act as an indicator resembling high quality standards, on one hand and a sustainable "Trust Factor" on the other, leading to an unyielding modernized scope of recognition in the global market.

This international award comes soon after Eng Kanhukamwe was also awarded the International Socrates Award “THE NAME IN SCIENCE AWARD” in the Science sphere for personal contribution to intellectual development of today’s society by the Europe Business Assembly, Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to Education by the Africa Leadership Awards and the 2012 2nd Runner-up Public Service Manager by the Zimbabwe Institute of Management.
