HIT Participates at the ZITF

The Harare Institute of Technology participated in the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair which took place from 28 April to 2 May.

The premier international exhibition was held under the theme: "Stimulating Trade, Seizing Opportunities to Accelerate Growth."

The HIT exhibition was based on four thematic areas – innovation, commercialisation, incubation and the HIT contribution to Zimbabwe's economic empowerment blue print, ZIMASSET.

Items on exhibit included the E- Government Service Application Tracker and the Agro-tech Cloud Farm System from the Software Engineering Department, the robotic manipulator, knee device system both from the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering department,  herbal products from Insti herbs, food items and cordials from Instifoods.

Various visitors streamed to the HIT stand including prospective students, HIT alumni and Government Officials among others.

The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri visited the HIT stand and stressed the need for HIT to fully commercialise its products. She added that HIT was poised to reap the benefits from its commercialisation drive.

The HIT team was comprised of Ms Laudrina Masiyazi – Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department, Mr Mutandavari – Software Engineering Department, Mr Mazuru Pomerayi – Pharmaceutical Technology Department, Mrs Sharai Muonwa – Public Relations and Marketing Manager, Mr Tinashe Mutema – Director of Communications and International Relations and the Exhibitions Committee  Chairperson – Mr Dinga Moyo.
