The Harare Institute of Technology Vice Chancellor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe was awarded the ZIMBABWE'S VICE CHANCELLOR OF THE YEAR 2015 runners-up prize at the 2015 Megafest Premium National Business Excellence Awards with Great Zimbabwe University Vice Chancellor Professor R. Zvobgo scooping the ultimate prize.
The 2015 Megafest Premium National Business Excellence Awards were held at the Rainbow Hotel in Harare on 18 under the theme "FOSTERING ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH INNOVATION".
This prestigious award is a milestone achievement for both Vice Chancellor Eng. Kanhukamwe and the Institute as this accolade has carved his name and that of the Institute in the history of ZIMBABWE books among the movers and shakers of our time.
Megafest recognise individual captains of industries, corporates and Zimbabwe's most influential dealmakers, owners, investors, executives, senior corporate managers, general managers, Chief Executive Officers and other functional executives for their excellence.
The Megafest Premium National Business Excellence Awards are a combination of all awards done to get the crèmede crème, aimed at recognising players and corporates that have done well throughout Zimbabwe.
The awards are held annually as a way of developing and promoting professional business acumen at all business levels. Several well-known business people, managers and corporates in Zimbabwe have been recipients of the Megafest Awards.
Vice Chancellor Eng. Quinton Kanhukamwe was installed by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe and Chancellor, His Excellency Cde Robert Mugabe as the First Vice Chancellor of the Harare Institute of Technology on the occasion of the Fisth Graduation Ceremony on 23 October 2014 at the University campus in Belvedere, Harare.
On his installation as the HIT First Vice Chancellor pledged his commitment to transforming the Harare Institute of Technology into a vibrant, energetic, and responsive University to both the needs of government and the country.
The Harare Institute of Technology Vice Chancellor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe was awarded the 'Consumer Choice – Best Performing Public Sector Manager of The Year Award 2015,' at the inaugural Public Sector Management Awards.
Stallone Consultancy, a management and training organisation hosted the awards ceremony at a colourful ceremony attended by Government and corporate leaders, at the Rainbow Towers Hotel, Harare on Friday 8 April 2016.
Awards organiser, Zack Murerwa said the award is a result of consumer nominations and is for Parastatals and Local Authorities Leadership excluding Government Departments and the Civil Service.
