Innovation and Disruptive Technologies Workshop

The Department of Industrial Manufacturing Engineering and the Technology Transfer Centre (TTLC) is hosting the INNOVATION AND DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES WORKSHOP today, under the theme " ADAPTING TECHNOLOGIES TO DRIVE REAL WORLD SOLUTIONS."

This workshop's core objectives include the communication of the IME department's research thrust for the academic year 2018/19, sharing innovative and disruptive trends and opportunities in industry, concepts associated with Industry 4.0, rapid prototyping, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data analytics as well as discussing how technology may be applied to increase productivity and revenues for the various manufacturing and service industry's that IME engineers work in.

Key speakers include Eng. P. Muredzi, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, Eng. T. Garikayi, TTLC Director, IME departmental staff, Eng, Runatsa (Avtech Engineering), Eng. Zvarevashe (Jacob Bethel), Eng. Mugura (TPZ), Mrs Ndlovu (Micah Foundation), Eng. Tsekeni (MegaPack), Eng. Nhando(ZFC), Eng. Chinodya (BetaBricks), Eng. Chimbambo, (Aurex Holdings, Dr. T Stevenson (MiTek) and Bure from the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development.
Participants are drawn from staff and students from the IME department, industrial engineers and partners, parastatal and non-governmental organisations.
